    Angry Car Insurance

Aaaggghhhh! It's no good I can't get a quote for anything less than £1000 (pounds sterling) third-party, fire & theft on a dirt cheap Volkswagen Jetta I've been offered - ie offered at £400.

Godamm insurers....serves me right for crashing my last car I suppose...

    Is that per month?

My freind who is on his 4th car ( he has been driving for 3 years) pays around $300 a month, but only pay 300 every 3 month, b/c I have never been in an accident.

For my mum's car (the one I'm insured on) we pay about £780 a year (Corsa Diesel, 65mpg even with me driving like a maniac ).

And that's INCLUDING the accident I had, and our entire family (parents, me, my sister)
I refuse to tie my hands behind my back and hear somebody say "Bend Over, Boy, Because You Have It Coming To You".

Have you tried Norwich Union Direct? They saved me a packet.

I was struggling to find anything less than £1000 for my motor and Axa direct's online service got it me for about £750 (fully comp).

I've also had a claim from when my best friend wracked my car up when pissed. As he wasn't insured (didn't even have a licence) I had to foot the bill and lost 2yrs no claims.

    Give 'em a whirl.

EagleStar were also pretty close if you wanna try them....

I was a new driver, with an M9 postcode and a pass plus certificate under my belt, I was recommended Royton Insurance Services (dunno if theres a website, I'll check later), as the cheapest quote found by my girlfriends mum (and she's tried specialist female driver companies and established safe driver companies in the past and this company has always managed to undercut them).

I tried to insure myself on a J reg Fiat Uno 900cc. The other companies were offering anywhere from £1300 to £2400 TPFT. This guy sold me a policy for £700

    Give it a whirl...

no website, but the obligatory google search: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&i...rance+services has pages containing their contact details. Its a one man band, but he's very pleasant - not a pushy salesman.

    900cc and £1300? Yikes. Mum's is a 1694cc......

I have a suspicious feeling all would change if I was the only driver on it, though :S

Forgot to mention that the Jett is a 1.6 87E plated automatic - quite remarkably in spanking condition...with only 65k on the clock. Drives like a peach - I had a wee go...80-90 up the m-way!

Ah well looks like I'll be in the land of small ****e for a while - where was that 1.2 Clio RN?

Being an old fart can have its advantages.
Mondeo Estate, fully comp, full no claims = £380
OK I know its a boring car, but when my mid-life crisis reaches its peak and I buy a sports car I'll be able to insure it.

Try Direct Line through the net, they give you a 5% discount

Insured me for £700-odd when Norwich Union wanted £1300

Yep, but it's surprisingly nippy in 2nd gear, including uphill on the M50 when I redline it pretty much every evening

Scraped it on a trolley bay, got a crack in the back of the wingmirror where I took someone else's out (), and crashed it at the traffic lights

Back in good shape though, and no incidents for the past 6 months at least...

...although the engine must be well knackered, the way I drive it!
