Many others and I think that we should have a live chat thing at vb world, if for now until you get a nice chat room going you can get a free chat from
http://www.chatspace.com/
its this thing for webpage chat rooms, it does have there logo on it, and I beilve that its free, try it.... but for the future I think that someone (maybe you john) can make an applet for a nice chat room, but until then goto http://www.chatspace.com/

The live chit-chat has its minuses also (besides the obvious pluses). Right now I ALWAYS use search before I post a new thread. In most cases I'm able to find previous post that helps me with my problems. With live chit-chat many people would try to solve their problems using the chit-chat what means that the search would no longer find it. And I don't think it would be a good idea to store live chit-chat conversations in a database for further references because it would take so much space that it would be just insane to do it. I think that the way these forums are running right now is the easiest way to get help fast (using search option) without waiting for response (sometimes it takes a long time and we all know that the problem has to be solved fast).

I agree on the higher rating thing (that may make John do it), but still I think it would make the site less helpful.

Chat about VB? As Qwerty said, people are basically going to ask questions so why not use the Forums?

QWERTY: (that was easy to type) Nobody ever said that anything in the chat would be stored or anything.
There was a discussion about the live chit chat a while ago and someone said something about it. I just thought I would say it again.

Do you think that all few thousands members will know about it? There would have to be an info while entering the chat room, but even with that not everybody would have to read it - therefore they still would answer the questions.

In Person means face to face, you know, when you see the person's face, hear the person's voice....
