Nero changing write speed
So I'm burning a music CD to listen to in my car. I click Burn (at 8x mind you), and everything seems to go OK, but in the message window it tells me "Change of write speed due to media" and proceeds to write the whole CD at 4x. This has happened to me ever since I installed Windows 2000. What could be wrong?

Maybe it's not due to the media, and maybe your disk is having a tough time keeping up with the burner. This is especially true if you are burning "MP3s" because it really has to decode and THEN burn.
Try making sure all your motherboard drivers are installed, and use Nero's Drive Test to see how fast your drive is reading.
What's your media certified up to?

The reason it may have happened since Win2k is because you (may) have formatted with an NTFS partition - reads the data in a different way. I don't know if it's faster or slower, but I do know that it's different. I think, along with Justin, that it's your hard drive.

(Just a heads-up)
