People Who Have Lost Account/ or Posts
If you've lost your posts, put your old username and estimated post count before the crash here. It'll make it easier for Karl, if any thing can be done about it.....

I lost my account and had to re-subscribe. I had about 400 posts but I'm not that bothered about my post count resetting to zero - more upset by not being able to see all my subscribed threads :-(

I wouldn't worry about your Avator for now. Subsribed threads are in the same boat.

I'm guessing subsribed threads are gone. Threads would have been deleted and they ain't going to come back. The same thing is going for Users.

Yeah... as I've said "Give it Time"
Another problem is that it appears that I we are being double emailed when someone replies to a Thread.

I don't think it's necessary to post our 'guessed' post counts. If Karl wanted to correct them surely the best way would be to run a script that queried the post database for each user pulling the number of posts and updating the user profile.

On an already busy forum, with over 30,000 members, and over 1 million posts, that could take hours to complete

Would it?
If the database is well designed with good indexes then I don't see why it should take that long - especially if it was done 'off-peak'. If it was likely to take hours then I presume back-ups are taken so why not use one of these on a seperate machine that could run the job then just migrate the results back to the live machine.
Besides it could take many hours to manually update peoples post counts.

Previously, I used to get one email per thread with new posts.
Now I am receiving one email per post. This is annoying.

Wow,
This account is really old...
My previous one is gone (phrozeman) i almost had 200 posts, registred sice April 2000 or 2001...
So i wanted to register my old nickname back (phroze), but the register function doesn't work!!
Can anyone change this acount nickname to phroze and my posts back ?
Thanx
There's a certain mystique when I speak, that you notice that it's sorta unique, cause you know it's me

how can you do that? the reason nobody has posts anymore is becasue they are gone. duh, you can't query something that is not there.
I have a friend and his name was scoutt and his posts were like 2900.

I think that was a hack some one put in. And yes it used to do that here. Give it time and they will fix it.
I'm not worried by any of this stuff. Yes have lost over 2000 post counts but who cares, it's not going to be the end of the world. Lost some threads which l was keeping an eye on, but what the hey repost the question. Have done that and am still not getting an answer to a question.
Life goes on, be happy the board is back up and running, stop whinging.....

Yeah, with a good database (vBulletin manages it quite well, up to a point and I think that's where VBF is !) it could take mere seconds.
All contents of the above post that aren't somebody elses are mine, not the property of some media corporation.
(Just a heads-up)

I dont really care about the post count, but having so many "Zaei Status: Guest"'s floating around is a bit strange. Is there anyway to change my User ID, back to what it was? If not, no problem, like I said, I dont really mind at all =).

woo-hoo! I can finally get in again , it's been such a nightmare trying to re-register, but I'm back!
hope things are getting better at your end of this Karl, I'm sure you are having a complete nightmare...
anyway.. I had about 1300 posts, and I think I registered about a year ago my welcome message was one of the few potentially important mails I didn't keep!

I wouldn't mind my user name back.... being reborn is all fine and dandy, but the extra 7 characters are killing me...
I had about 1350 or 1400 posts. If you can query the DB, it should be easy - search for "- gaffa" in the actual thread. I never used a signature, so my name is in every post I made... knew I did that for some reason
