    Word 97 Weirdness

    Ok I'm running Word 97 on Windows XP Pro, and whenever I open a document, it keeps asking me "Do you want to revert to the Saved blah" or "Do u want to open the saved blah"

    Any help???

    As pointed out in a PC Anywhere thread, XP is just strange. Either upgrade to Office XP *shudder* or revert to Win2k.

    Oops forgoty to mention, some one at IBM pointed out theres a toggle somewhere in XP to run older software versions. Find that and it may fix the problem. Don't have XP at home to check it out for you. Report back, am interested in this issue for other software program probs on XP.

    Nope it didn't work, just crashed Word whenever I tried to run it.....(Set to Windows 98/Me Compatibility)

    Ok.. tried it on NT 4 and it would take abit longer to load, but it still prompts with the "Revert to saved blah" msgbox. Shuts down though...

    Is there a setting or something I should have Checked???
