When you give them permission to write to a file, you're giving them permission to change the file in any way, which includes deleting it. Word has a feature that lets you just add to a file, not delete, but im not sure about excel.

You could make backups of the files in that folder of something...

After doing some digging i came up with this...you can fool around with the dialog in tools>Protection>Protect Sheet.

As you can see, it lets you set exactly what the user can and cannot do. Hope this helps.

thanks for your help nishantp but..

i really dont mind if users delete what the cells have!!

what i dont want them to do is to actually delete the entire file or the folder it self!!!!

if they do any changes to it its ok ... but i dont want them to be able to delete them!!!!

    right-click the folder in question
    select properties
    click the security tab
    click Advanced
    select the person/usergroup
    click View/Edit

you can now allow or deny for practically every action possible, including deleting the folder and deleting subfolders/files
