At MicroSoft's DirectX site, it says that the documentation is in the 1.3M file- but I don't see it there. At this stage, the documentaation is all I want- does anyone know if I have to downloaad the 120+ M file for that? Or am I missing something?
If anyone has the documentation and the inclination and energy to zip it up and email me, I would be most apreciative. What is it anyway- .docs, or .pdfs or what?
Or is it by itself on another site somewhere?

It's part of the Platform SDK, which can be downloaded from MSDN. The DirectX documentation section is around 40mb, in Compiled HTML (.chm) format.
