    Hardware acceleration

I posted this in in G/G forum before but at last, I had to reinstall my OS in order to fix this problem. But now after about 3 days of reinstalling my OS, I am getting this damn problem again and I don't want to reinstall my OS over and over!
    So here it is:

For some reason, I can't run any game using hardware acceleration. For example in Midtown Madness 2, first this game gave me an option of choosing either "Software acceleration" or "Hardware acceleration" but now it's only showing "Software acceleration" in the list. I have tried updating Directx and also my video card driver but it still can't run in hardware acceleration.
The reason why I am mentioned this is because any Directx or OpenGL demo I run is also very slow in speed (it was used to be fast before).
This problem has randomly occurred in the past too but I had to always reinstall my operating system in order to get my real settings back.

You need to install some better video card drivers. What video card do you have?

I have tried running dxdiag but the option to enable or disable 3d acceleration is disabled so I can't change it...weird.

My video card is just a simple Intel graphics chip 810. I downloaded the latest driver for it but it still doesn't make any difference.

I reset my BIOS settings to default. First the video card thing was set to "On Board" but now it's "PCI".
    Still didn't work.

I mean it was saying "Direct3D Acceleration" which is disabled. That's the reason why no game renders in hardware mode. With the same video card, it was working before but suddenly (without making any major change), it messed up everything.
