when your boss is an idiot
he came up to me and asked what would it cost to get his company their own ULD (upper level domain name)
eg: www.me.darin
I told him thats impossible unless u get your company the legal status of a country... then he asks would it be possible to write your own protocol so we could have something like
w2w.me.darin
lol.... what do i tell him now?
He is practically pushing me onto this... he wants me to take it up as my new assignment...
Well... as far as I know... thats impossible... u'd probably have to pay a lot to get InterNic to do it but then again, if it was possible, why haven't Microsoft done it... Another idea that struck his mind is to strike a deal with a poor african nation or something....
Anyone has some tips on a way out... he is absolutely convinced that I can do something here for him...

Haha... god. I feel sorry for you. What really sucks is when you tell your boss "It's not possible" all they hear is "I Suck and I can't do it, please fire me".
But hey, if he's willing to strike a deal with a small African country then he's obviously wants it REAL bad lol.

You can use your own TCP/IP based protocol. If you've ever connected to an Unreal Tournament server you may notice the links to them are unreal://the.server.name.
Getting your own special domain name like that is just not gonna happen though,
