    Question keeping creator details on a dll

    in .net when u reference a com dll it copys it to the current dir and it chnages the name to add interloper to the front, but it also strips off all the creators info, is thier a way to keep this?? so when u distribute the program and dll no one can use the dll in their work and claim it is theres

    it does not change the name of a com component. It makes a wrapper to the component and names it whatever. The COM component is still required.

    If you want to make your components unable to be used by other coders then you need to look into liscensing. Putting your name as the dll name will have no effect on keeping people from stealing it.

    Putting your name as the dll name
    i do not put my name there, i was refering to when u right click the dll u can view the properties which contains the creators info etc

    and yes i know reshack can alter the properties, but it will at least stop some people :P and not make it look like microsoft made it.

    The COM component is still required.
    i dont know about this, the dll it makes in the dir is bigger than the original, and u dont need the orignal to run the program, it just copies the com adds a bit to it, renames it, delets all the properties.
