Removing VSS integration from VB
I`m aware than you can delete the SourceCodeControlProvider key from the registry, but then VB crashes upon exit. Is there a way of stopping it from crashing? I wouldnt mind - i`d live with that rather than endure the hell that is trying to duplicate a simple form from within VB with integration enabled - except it means my MRU list is never updated so I have to browse to the project file each time I load up again.... very tedious.
If you know what the hell i`m talking about then perhaps you can help.

The only way I know for you to disable source control integration is to go to Add-Ins, select Add-In Manager and Source Control Integration should be marked as Startup/Loaded.
Select it and uncheck the boxes on the lower right under Load Behavior.
That should do it.
