Can anyone explain what's the difference between VB6
    and VB5?
I think they are the same thing. What can I do with VB6
    that I can't do with VB5?

The difference between VB5.0 and VB6.0 is that they are different version. There is more stuff that comes in and with VB 6.0. Basically, it'd be like an update of version 5.0 and adding better features.

Make sure you ask this question again when VB7.0 comes out .

I think Vb6 has a lot of bug fixes for starters,
I have used Vb5 before(it was pirated, but i dont have it anymore), I didnt make any exe's with it, I just wanted to see what vb6 EE would be like(this was vb5 pro, and this was about a week before I got my vb6EE),
and I didnt see anything really big, Vb6 probably has better Data Access, and its more internal I think, I think its such a big deal that vb5 is so close to vb6 because MS first introduced Vb1 for dos, then vb1, it pretty much sucked(it was great at the time), then vb2 came out, not much difference, then VB3 broke the <not much difference> barrier with data access capabilities, then vb4 came out and it was 32 Bit!, then there was Vb5, which has a MDI IDE(Multiple Document Interface, Integrated Devlopment Environment)

everybody was used to these enourmous changes, then VB6 came out and it wasnt much different than vb5.....

Actually there's a lot of difference between the two (mainly in Database area). See this link for the full scoop.
