Oh my god, I was cracking up so hard when I read that article. I could already see it - a dog winning and running in Congress. Only in America where freedom is really expressed.

This quote is so funny.
Mr Genthner says that Percy is a compassionate conservative who is tough on crime - "he will personally chase down any criminal he sees", and social parasites, especially fleas and worms.

The vote in Florida proved crucial to the election outcome that eventually put George W Bush in the White House.
Actually, gore won in florida by 512 votes, according to the recount done months later. That would put florida's electoral votes to gore, and thus, gore with the presidency.

I think that's the point, HB. We want someone more intelligent now.

People will actually vote for that dog.
I was in Burnaby (BC) once during a municipal election, a guy had started a "People's Free Beer Party" which promised that they would give out free beer to everyone, until the city treasury was emptied. Then they would resign.
I remember him getting around 7000 votes.

Another sidetrack here
Is there a restriction on race in the Constitution ? Can a dog legally run for office or is there some amendement in the law that restricts government jobs to humans ?
Am I barking up the wrong tree here ?

Well they have to be at least 35 I believe. I don't think that's in dog years, but they didn't specifically say.

I'm sure he'll get along with the other Belgian turtles just fine. Try to relax about it Wally. It's gonna work out. Just don't bring him back. We have a replacement already and don't have anywhere to put him.
