Visual Studio.net plus Visual Studio v6
Can l get them running on the same rig? Replacing my hard disk at the office cause it's only 8gigs and now has 20meg free. Nice new 20gig waiting on install. Okay l support existin vb6 software, and am developing in vb.net ans ASP.net (once l finish the courses).
Can l have both versions on the same PC?
P4 1200, running Win2k Prof....

I have both VB6 as VB:NET installed on the same machine.
The only problem I am aware of is with Crystal reports. The .NET version is not compatible with the one included with VS6. At least this was the case with BETA 1 or 2 of VS.NET, I'm not sure about the release version.

just to add one more confirmation that the two can coexist... I have them coexisting on two seperate machines without any problems so far.

There is something that I'm not sure of, I've heard that the old VB can be installed along with VB.NET, but I dont know about the whole VS packet. Like I don't know if this is the same about C++

Just one more thing.
If you happen to have an MSDN subscription, the MSDN library is now the integrated help system for VB.NET, so if you want it to use for VB6, you still need the october 2001 version.

Just to add my 2 bobs worth - i have vb3,vb4 16bit,vb5, vb6 and vb.net all happily running together on 3 computers - absolutely no problems

I have VS 6 Enterprise and VS.Net Professional running on a Windows XP Professional machine with no problems at all. You can even run them at the same time...
