Question Having Trouble Running An ASPX File

    Good day !

I have an index.aspx, from a reference book.

I wish to run the website. I have set a virutal domain for it and put the file inside. I tried to run it usnig the browser but I get an error message something like "You are not authorized to view the page" or something like that.

How can this happen ? I am using my own PC as the server. I just wonder ?

    Anyone can help me ?

    Thanks a lot !

i DID have that problem, and some how i resolved it, im not exactly sure how, but what i WOULDA done is gone into the IIS settings and probed the properites of that application, prolly around security or something. i was trying to see the ibuyspy demo application from www.asp.net

and now i can see it, but it displays the actual text of the aspx file!! grrrr, and i looked in the application mappings in IIS and there is none for .aspx extensions, so i think thats where i need to add something for .aspx, if someone could find out what .dll or .exe it needs to map to that would be great thanx!

note: i have no idea with this web stuff i just started yesterday....

just a note that i fixed my previous problem, its because i reinstalled IIS after installing asp.net so i had to re-register the isapi filter dll thing, and now it works! ah that feels good.

Sonic: If those suggestions dont work, you will need to check your hard drive partition settings. It should be set to NTFS. you may need to look up how to do that in Windows help as i dont quite remember how. I had to this myself because I had the same problem previously.
