Sarcasm is the lowest form of humour?
That's what they say. Is it true?
Everything I say is either loose interpretation of dubious facts or idle speculation rooted in irrational sentiment.

Sure it is, I'm living proof of that.
Laugh, and the world laughs with you. Cry, and you just water down your vodka.

Yep. Those practicing should be hung publicly. We can't have our society polluted by these crimes.
Why on earth would anyone want to laugh anyway ?

At times it can be witty, but at others it can be really irritating.
I have quite a sarcastic/dry sense of humour.

People seem to enjoy things more when they know a lot of other people have been left out of the pleasure

Jello turning up in this thread reminded me of the painful pun which may take the wooden spoon right out of sarcasm's hand.
btw the quote was from Oscar Wilde and Dictionary.com elucidates that sarcasm is a key ingredient of satire.

We are both amazed and delighted by NewClearAss's foray into this thread. Amazed that he can read, and delighted by his clear understanding of the Aeroplane Jelly lit cards released last year. That with his deep understanding of Phantom comics makes him an opponent to fear.
I admit it, l may have been wrong in ascribing the quote to Pope. Though it is clearly derivative of Pope's "Wit is the lowest form of intelligence" (see Mr Pope's Essays).
We wait with bated breath, for NewClearAss to lift the veil from our eyes, to light a beacon of understanding on the plains of ignorance, to boldly state his sources for the assertion that the quote is indeed from Mr Wilde.

Important notice !
It is a well known fact that programmers aren't required to be able to read. In fact, it's a bonus. Designed to give them an excuse to claim that the project aims were not clearly instructed. And, as any working man knows, excuses are God's little way of saying that lying is acceptable as long as everyone believes you.
So go on and use your god-given right for your own benefit. It is morally just to do so. Ask any priest.
