Smile Problem when install Visual Studio.NET

    Hi,
I had Windows 2000 Professional but when I install Visual Studio.NET, it said that some windows components in my computer do not match the versions required for Visual Studio.NET. Does anyone know what components to install ?
I searched some products at Microsoft site already but can't find any information. Thanks for any helps.

VS.Net normally installs the framework components if needed. If you have a beta version of the framework you should uninstall it. Other than that I can only suggest you visit www.windowsupdate.com to see if you are up to date.

Didn't it tell you to put in the "Component Update CD" (or something similar)? It should've. Then the installer would update anything that needs updating.

There should be 4 Cd's and 1 Windows Component CD that you are installing from unless of course you have that huge 1.5gb beta file that was available to download. When you insert the 1st cd it'll go through a few steps and then it will prompt to insert the Windows Component CD which will then install the necessary components to have the .NET framework.

the windows component update disk will only update the windows components that are installed. make sure you have all you're suppose to installed. control panel --> add/remove programs then the add windows components tab. then reinstall .net
