Everyone else is doing it...
Which do you like better?
A:
http://www.paulkjohnson.com
or B:
http://www.paulkjohnson.com/test1.htm
if you like B better, what should I do with the space at the top? I have no idea.

B is much easier to read. Just put a title graphic on the top.

B is way better than A but both still lack that certain je ne sais quoi that keeps em looking like a personal page.... I suggest killing yourself if u cant come up with something better in the next 5 minutes

The biggest problem is I really don't have a clear vision of what I want it to be. On one hand, I want it to be sharp. On the other hand I want it to be kind of fun without looking amateur. So what I'm pulling off is schizophrenia that doesn't do either.

Thanks. Some of the photos aren't real good from an asthetic viewpoint, but I included them for the content of the photo.
I still need to figure out how to add properties to the jpgs. I can't figure out how in Photoshop or Image ready. Either that or a digital copyright or something. Glad you liked them.

You certainly have seen some interesting places.

That was the best part of being in the service. I always got in trouble though. My job wasn't to take photos so someone was always telling me to put my camera away. I just waited til they were gone and shot some more.

Should i even bother asking your opinion on Linux??????
We don't know what's wrong. . . So the best bet might be to remove something surgically.

Disclaimer sort of thing:
There are various places within these pages that I take shots at people or groups that I have issues with. If you're one of those people and you want to shoot back, send me an e-mail and say what's on your mind. You don't have to hold back - I'm durable.

for example I lump southern baptist fundamentalists in with all other extremists:

I'm liking C. A makes me feel like I'm entering this sort of twilight zone-ish type thing...makes me wonder what I'll encounter there (I think black webpages just do that to me...sort of goth I guess). B is...well, You said it, I didn't. C is clean and attractive and makes me want to stay and browse around. (I did that with A a while ago but it was with trepidition).

I just don't pick color schemes well. I liked the layout of B but not the color. Glad you like C. So now you can stick around and read all 200 pages.
Don't forget to sign the guest book.

Hence C!
I'll sign your yearbook when I have something deep and profound to say.

LOL... just like everyone else has done.
Yeah... I think I'm going with C until I decide I don't like it any more. Then I'll mess the whole thing up again. In the mean time, I have to change all those black pages. I don't like any of them. Not the chalkboard ones, but the black/dark grey pinstripe pages. Fortunately, there's not a lot of them.

Which is which? I was specifically talking about your homepage. Anyway, to offer my unsolicited advice, I'm a big proponet of consistency throughout a website...It's a little jarring to click on your software page from your home page....I think that having a consistent background is a good thing....
You know me, I live life on the edge....

I never liked the software page either. I think I'm going to make that page either like the home page or the VB DB pages.
The chalkboard pages are underneath the Ranting page. I don't know what the ranting page is. Just some front page theme that I picked in a moment of indecisiveness.
I need my own graphic artist.

I find the following site a good source of inspiration (or down right copying). Should find some good colour schemes, and layouts there.
