I tried installing XSI a while ago but it didnt work so I got rid of it

As far as I can tell, softimage is the only thing that has a software protection system so it must not have been properly uninstalled. Check all the usual startup places and try to remove it manually.
What is the answer to this question?

well it must be that because XSI is the new version of Softimage. The thing is that it pops up those thing whenever it wants to.. not just at start up
