I thought he was talking about a used Mitsubishi. I figured it got trashed by a college student for that price.

did you mistake me for Justin for a minute there? I regularly visit the outside, I just thought I might take advantage of what appears to be a good deal...
I don't "play" with my friends; I'm 21!

I'm partial to ATI Raedon cards. So I'd get one of those unless the
G-4ce is free.
The Radeon 8500 is an awesome card but the Ti4400 kicks it's ass.
Yeah, it isn't a bad deal...

for anyone that cares, this is a bloody good deal because the retail price normally for that card here is £245/$345
I am seriously tempted...

Save your money. You have responsibilities. You could leave the money in the bank and earn interest. Think of the future. Don't sacrifice it for temporary gratification!

Go for it, SDRAM and a P4 1.7 is a major bottleneck on your system so might as well have a bad ass video card to make up for it. And you can OC it to Ti4600 speeds and be ready for Doom 3 and Unreal 2.
What the hell man just do it. If you're on a GeForce3...you can skip the GeForce4, but you're running a GeForce2 GTS, that's upgrade material right there.
I'm not an upgrade fanatic, but it's time for you to upgrade

Actually considering shelling out £160 for an Epox 8k7a + Athlon XP 1700 + 256 DDR + Coolermaster HS/Fan bundle...whaddya reckon? Will this existing proprietry setup scupper my plan?

I've been told (don't know how reliably) that the geforce 4 4600 is going down to about 200 quid and the 4400 down to 150.

****.
I bought one about 2/3 months back for just under £200. Still I don't regret the buy, it's the dogs bollocks. There isn't any game that I can't run at 1600*1200 with all the options cranked up (including SOF2 Ian).
Worth the pennies if you spend more than an hour at a time at your pc.

if that does happen that's still only 30 quid less and I've got a couple of months use before the GF5 does come out
I think to get it for £186 when it costs £245 retail is a bargain! Besides, if you constantly waited for the price to drop a bit you'd never buy anything!

But i gotta say GForce 4 rocks, at last i can play GTA3 Properly !! Let me get back to my gta, man its so addictive. I feel like running over real people on the street now
sounds like you picked up an MX job

Yep, it does the business!
I know what you mean about GTA3...my current one just about handles it on naff resolution, and it's 3dmark01 score is a non-to-shabby 4500. Methinks GTA3 needs some serious power which the new card should easily provide

Coolness, you will need another power supply (Dell uses a funny wiring on their PSUs...you could probably re-wire it, but not worth blowing out a perfectly good board) otherwise don't see why it wouldn't work..

Yep, I just got GTA3 and it runs smoothly on my GeForce3 Ti200 with an XP1900 and 512MB of DDR at 1280x1024...although you can probably do the same with some anti-aliasing

yeah apparently you need a good 350-400W PSU for an Athlon...since this is 250(?) I'll just buy a new one if I go through with it...only 20 quid or so...think I'll wait though until this one starts to embarass me...
Thanks
