How do I change the names so that they are registered as "My system one" and "The other system" in place of "Microsoft windows 2000 Professional" and "Microsoft windows 2000 Professional" on startup? You know, the point where you choose which one to boot up into....

Yeha, there's a hidden file Boot.ini on your master boot partition, edit it with notepad.

Found it thanks guys. The boot.ini is for the actual names of the two systems, while the other path (under system -> advanced -> start up and recovery) is for the order of booting. Thanks guys.

To chrisjk - I am working at a paper mill. There are two places that I develop for. The actual production mill with the machines, and head office with the executives. They have two different standards for the software eg officexp and office97. I have recently encountered a few compatibility problems because of this. I tried to do a win2k and nt4 dual boot, but I required some extra drivers for nt4 for my hard drive which I could not get. Since the mill is going 2k, I figured I could stick with it. Also. I have a few extras that the mill pc's don't have. The second system provides me with a build pc which I can use to compile my applications with the correct versions of everything (mdac for example). My associate is working on some interfaces to shield us from the version thing, but intil then...
