Firewall & 56K modem connection
How secure can a 56K modem connection be from nasty invaders... is a Firewall too much?

Its pretty secure, because for one, with dialup you wont be on the internet all the time. Two you have a dynamic ip, meaning your IP will randomly change everytime you connect.
In short a "hacker" would have a very hard time, finding you, and keeping you found, without using a trojan, which would be almost impossible to get on your computer.
Still I recommend getting a firewall, it helps catching spyware.

Thanks
Are there any resource issues when running a firewall and using 56K?

The only things you might get problems with are funky things like messengers or applets but you can tone down the level of protection and they will be let through no problems
I once got a lot of problems with news.bbc.co.uk and some other places like support.microsoft.com when the firewall was on maximum; turning it down to medium solved everything
