Windows 98
I've got Win98 on my work lappy (Sony Vaio PCG-505TR, one of the superultraslim dealies). How can I make it so when I shut the lid, it either turns off the screen when running on AC or sleeps on battery? I don't see anything useful in the Power control panel.

On my girlfriend's laptop, there is a little button which is triggered when she shuts the lid, and shuts the comp down. I don't think it's software configurable.

The hard drive clicks frantically when I shut the lid so it definitely knows what's going on...I know you can do it on 2000/XP

What happens if you change the power management profile to laptop under Power Management in the CP?
