    Talking

well I have finally decided that I am definatly going to start my business, probably within the next month,
I was gonna call it dennissoft, but that name is kind of egotistical.....

I am thinking of calling it cyberinertia what do you think of that?

would you want to buy from a company called cyberinertia?

and where should I register my domain/host my site?
I am thinking of registering at http://www.registerclub.com and hosting it at..........
ummmm does anybody know of a good place to host my domain?

it has to have these features

    • I dont want it free, those are crap!
    • since I am paying, NO BANNERS
    • PHP and Perl, or ASP and Perl
    • I dont absolutely Need Perl
    • some kind of DB system like MySQL
    • no more than $20 a month
    • at least 6gb bandwidth
    • at least 30mb storage 50 prefered
    • although I dont know how to use this with CGI an accessable C/C++ compiler (on the server) would be nice
    • Unix or Windows if windows 2k prefered, if unix, linux prefered
    • good uptime
    • able to host subdomains(IE me.domain.com)
    • NO BANNERS
    • NO BANNERS
    • unlimited access to cgi-bin(some places only allow premade scripts, that are made or approved by them)
    • allows you to store all files(HTML, ASP(or PHP)(or CGI), ZIP, Exe, etc.)
    • good uptime
      and
    • NO BANNERS

I hope that isnt asking too much for only $20 a month....

    Thanks A LOT

Take a look at www.virtualempire.com. It has a lot of the features you wanted for a reasonable price. And Good luck with your business!!

    thanks!
I looked at your sig, how did you dish out $2500 for BCB Ent?

    and
after looking at the list of features this place has(I am probably gonna go with them though)

    I also need

    • Frontpage support
    • at least 3 pop email accounts
    • if it is a Win. virtual server I must be able to use ASP

and although they sound good, I dont think I am gonna go with them, because they dont have asp, you cant access DB, and I dont think you can write your own scripts(not sure though),
    but DAMN!
sure is temping, unlimited bandwidth, 20pop's, 40mb....

    Cool

One time, my dad brought BC++ and VB home with him(He is also a programmer). Ever since, I have been completely hooked on programming. Someday, I hope to fill my signature with ALL languages. But that will be a few years from now and a hell of a lot of cash.

    2 points dennis

    1. Don't dive in with the first host that looks close - keep looking for exactly what you want - don't compromise. Chances are you'd be stuck with them for a year if you do.

    2. I don't like the name cyberinertia. Inertia implies sluggishness or inactivity. Do you want these adjectives associated with you and your business? I believe a name should have positive connotations, not negative.

    Punctuation please

Cyberinertia seems a bit difficult to comprehend in one quick glance. How about a little punctuation?

cyber-inertia, cyber.inertia, or whatever. Otherwise it seems like a good name to me.

I was thinking about adding a dash between cyber and inertia, but now I know I am

and when I hear the name cyber-inertia(or anything else with inertia), it makes me think of something going fast, that wont stop....

    but thats just my opinion

Another idea is to find a word in another language that tells what your business is about. For example, "Provectus" means "advanced" in Latin. This is just an idea, and I like the name you have already. If you are looking for more advice, go to www.entrepreneur.com. It has lots of great articles and tips for starting your own business.
