    digital camera caused BSOD

its an hp photosmart 315 that has a bunch of pics on it that i need to get off. Usually, i use their software to do that, but i lost the disk a couple of months ago. Whenever i just plug it it (its by USB) windows pop up "finding new hardware" and then "adding USB mass storage device". then i get a bsod saying page_fault_in_nonpaged_area. I got it to work a while ago, but forgot how. what do i need to do?

ok, now I have the cd and its installed. When I am running the hp proggy to listen to the USB ports, it says it cant connect to the camera. When I turn the proggy off and replug in the camera, I get as far as "adding USB mass storage device" then i get a BSoD saying page_fault_in_nonpaged_area. If I have windows epxlorer running in the background, I see it adding a Removable Drive (E just before it freezes

win2k, hp photosmart 315 (firmware and software upgraded)

Go into the options and change its connect method from virtual disk to camera device (you'll know what I mean)

Ok. Turn on your camera. Turn the dial (is there one? I have the 618) to shoot mode (or turn the camera to shoot mode). Press Menu, and then go to the preferences tab. Go down until you find PC Connect Mode. Set it to Digital Device, not USB Disk Drive.
