game port number for network
ok, this is really anoying.
it's like this:
we have the cable connected to our host computer, then it goes to hub (or first hub then host =)
then it goes to my computer and a few other computers
problem is: the host computer has ip and i have ip
if i want to host a game, the other ppl will get 2 ip's and it wont work
i use program 'share the net'. it is possible to 'remove' that other ip or somehow connect my computer directly to the internet BUT
i need a port number. if i have the port number, i can install it and it will work SO
does anyone know the portnumber??
thanks in advance,
-Tonnic

Good Ol' Platypus
27015 I believe is the default server port. Though I've seen some strange ones ranging from 20000 to 60000!
All contents of the above post that aren't somebody elses are mine, not the property of some media corporation.
(Just a heads-up)

you have a cable modem? you may want to invest in a linksys cable router..that way you dont need that 'share the net' application as the router does it for you. Plus there is an option in the setup program for it where you select DMZ Host which allows you to host games.
cable router is not too expensive for one with only a couple ports.
Otherwise you can contact the makers of CouterStrike and ask what the default port is.
