How do I open this case?

Its a *ahem* Dell Dimension tower case. Its got a P2 inside of it, and it was free. I don't have the time or the details right now to go into it, but I've no idea how to get the case open. The only screws I can see hold the PSU in place (which incidentally is upside down)

    Any ideas folks?

Unscrew the thumbscrew on the back, then push down the two tabs and pull.

I just pulled parts out of a Dell Dimension Tower today, and it works just like filburt says. Unless you have some kinda of machoist case - try taking the feet off - I've seen old Packard Bells that were a puzzle until you get ticked off and just start yanking on stuff.

I have dell optiplex's here in the office... they have a little button in the front left corner. You push it and the case just pops off. (took me 30 mins to figure out though ). They have a neat daughtercard system where all the PCI slots are on a tray that can also be removed.

This sounds closest, but it still eludes me. I probably don't need to open the case at all now, but do you have any further details or images? I assume you mean on the right hand (as seen from the front) panel?

It's on the left of you're looking at the front panel.

thats what I meant. I was viewing it from the back
    so...

looking at the back of the maching - unscrew the thumbscrew, then press the tabs (top and bottom) of the panel and pull it towards myself?

do you just want the left hand side off? one of the dells i have at work sounds just like the ones the others are describing, a push button on the top and bottom you jsut squeeze once the thumbscrew is out

if you have a dig camera, jsut take a picture, i've had to find my way inside some horrible case designs

See if you can get a new set of keys - Antec seems to only have one key per case model, I think.

it might be worth seeing if the front panel pulls off the dell case... and then screws behind that.

as for the antec case... the locks on them are usually the round type.. this should take u about 5mins to pick with 2 bent paper clips.
