    Talking Sprites

    Have you used the SNES9x Emulator? You could take screenshots and make your own sprites. Or you could check these sites:

    You know taking sprites from games is copyright infringement, correct? They aren't 'free' sprites.

    Janus: If he would like to use them he could. Nintendo would not care if he made a game, because highly unlikely he would create something they find "threatening" If you look around check any sites they do not care.

    Actually Nintendo care quite a bit, and I'm sure they wouldn't mind sueing you for copyright breaches...

    Nintendo of America recently had a webmaster jailed for running a site that contained infringing material. You sure they don't care?

    My point, however, was simply that sprites taken from other games are not 'free'. He can easily use sprites from SNES games for testing, and it's a good idea - I've done it a few times. But considering them 'free' and distributing them with everything is a bad idea.

    The only company I know that doesn't care is the King of All Game Making, RareWare. They let u use there images for free, as long as your not going to start selling them 'n' stuff. Which is pretty cool

    Sega doesn't care either - the Genesis is public domain as are all the first-party games.

    In case you forgot, Sega and Nintendo are responsible for the video game industry as we know it today. Atari started the video game trend, and Nintendo and Sega made it a phenomenon.

    Lightbulb

    I did talk to Nintendo awhile (and i mean awhile) ago about making games with those sprites. They were like, umm Yeah you can just don't sell it. And if you use are stuff we need to be parts in the credits with links ect ect ect ect... and i was like... riight lol.

    Sega kinda stunk cuz it couldn't keep up... I think Playstation is the best and will remain the best... =P

    (Maybe we should make this a chat post thing since we went off topic lol)

    PlayStation sucks... they don't know how to make games, or a Gaming console. I mean only to controller plugs??? Even Microsoft got it right in its first attempt. And most of PlayStation games look like they've been knocked up in a month.

    The only reason the 64 wasn't popular was because developers didn't like the cartridge and of course they were going to go to whats easiest to develop for. Thats why the 64 has some really good games... but not the popular ones that you see on the Playstation.

    Finally, how much money do u reckon Playstation is losing due to pirated games?? Nintendo went for cartridges because security couldn't be guarannteed... and now they have there fancy new mini discs which aren't easy to make copys of.

    Lightbulb Playstation

    I like Final Fantasy ! lol, Nintedo was good untill Square switched. The one thing I hate about nintendo is that they have like 10 main people each with 100 games... Mario, Mario Bros, Super Mario, Yohsi ect ect ect.... now if it was Link, i would be happy but they need new material.


    And the new Zelda killed me! They made it look like its for 3 year olds!

    Nintendo is aimed to much at kids... thats what I hate. PlayStation has far more adult games.... the rudest game on the 64 would have to Conker's BFD... I have no idea about Playstation's though.
