how many programmers like havy metal?

just wondering how many havy metal programmers are here

i myself like:
- Anathema
- The Gathering
- Pyogenesis
- Type O Negative
- Vader
- Sepultura

Some of those bands on that list i wouldnt clss them as heavey metal..but since there isnt really no way to class "Typo-negative" besides calling them Gothic metal..lol

Vader kicks ass...i love typo negative(my girlfreinds girlfriend!! what a name for a song!haha), Sepulura sucks ass
and the other bands i have never heard of..what are they black metal?, haha Dont tell me you like Cradle of death?

i would say that all of them except Sepultura are Gothic, and that's what I like the most.

i just saw Anathema a few weeks ago at Milwaukee Metal Fest in Wisconsin. There were like 200 metal bands over there, 2 day event.

My freind is always talking about going to the miluwakee metalfest... sheesh...but he never does...lol

I remember when i went to ozzfest96 damn talk about all day show..and the messed up part is we couldnt get seats
and we had to go to the "General admition" Filed..where when you looked at the bands on stage they looked so small
almost like this ---> . <--- on stage..haha
the only thing that sucked was that there was too much damn wind and that the bear was $5.00 a cup and to top it off it was MILLER ewwwwww .. PUTA MADRE!

Hmm, dunno how much of it you would class as metal, maybe just hard rock. Deftones, Slipknot, Silverchair, Green Day, Nirvana, Bush... getting kinda grungey towards the end there. Anyway that's my kind of thing. Haven't heard probably any of the bands you mentioned, except Sepultura and they do suck

MY OPNINION

Deftones:
Used to be cool... the first album rocked
now there 3rd album "white pony" is a far cry from songs like they had on there first album "adrenaline" ahhh the classics,
are always the best.

Slipknot:
I listend to there album and i dont like it..the only song i like from slipknot is "wait and bleed".

Silverchair: (The hanson of hard rock)
Copperchair or rustyironchair. haha the only song i liked from them is "Open fire".


Greenday:
Always liked em especially the video for "walking contradiction" where all the band members are walking around and everywhere they go stuff just goes wrong! haha.

Nirvana:
I never listend to them much..even though all my friends did.

Bush:
My x- girlfriend is a bush fan and i cant stand her so i dont listen to bush..hehe.

Not really into metal music, I perfer listening to heavy rock n roll stuff. Stuff like the Hellacopters, Turbo Negro, Fu Manchu, Zeke, Queens of the Stone Age.

I been playing the drums for about 3 years.

when I was in 6th grade I was in a wheelchair so I couldnt take PE so instead I played an instrument,
I liked the trumpet... ALOT....
but since I was sitting in a chair, the teacher thought I could handle the extra weight and moved me to a euphonium...
well I got pretty good at that, and wouldnt ya know it, its tuba time!
I couldnt even get one note out of that thing without taking a breath... it was HUGE!

well I got tired of the teacher switching instruments all the time,
so I got to take woodshop and keyboarding about 5 times each that year
errrr... off the subject here,
how many programmers like country music?
and how many programmers hree like (hurl;barf;puke!!!!) rap music(I hate rap!!!!!)

Wait and Bleed is Slipknot's best song, you're right. Others are good when you want loud n angry though. They have 3 (three!) drummers apparently.

Know what you mean about Silverchair, but just cos they're young doesn't mean they suck. I like the music, dunno what the people are like though.

I'll have to look up that 1039 Slappy Hours album anyway...


Oh yeah, what about Blink 182? If you like Green Day you ought to like Blink. Can't help but like their latest 30 minute long album, it's so darned happy

I have blink's album but i only like a few songs..
I cant believe this but..at a concert last june blink 187..hehe i mean 182 and bad religion played a show together
and to my dissapointment bad religion opend the show for blink!!!! how does that happen!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Bad religion has been around for at least 10 years more than blink, i dont get it..i guess it was a teenage thing, you know all of those Britany,Nsuck fans also love Blink.
Bad relgion was selling out shows while the members of blink were still in there diapers!. But oh well i guess times change.


And harry you also said that Slipnut has three drummers?
do you mean as 3 separte drummers or the drummer that they have is the size of three people? haha

I hate it when people have that 2000$ radio system in there car and when they go by you on the street it sounds like the world is comming to a end because they HAVE TO HAVE too much bass.Instead of spending all that money for the entire radio system..why dont they just go to the audio shop and ask for some speakers that only have bass to them thats it....they dont use the treble or anything else.
It might save em money and time..but not hearing..oh no way there hearing is screwed.

And the funny thing is..they think they are soo cool looking!!!! haha.

Also next time any of you see those people with the "too much bass" songs on just pay attention and watch how fast they turn the music down when a cop comes around the corner.lol

I haven't been keeping up with the music scene with as much I did when I was a youngun, but I've always been a hard rock fan and punk fan, and I like most metal when I hear it.

My 3 favorite bands of all time are:
KISS (great show by the boys here in NJ on 6/16/00)
The Ramones
Black Sabbath (all with Ozzy, and "Heaven & Hell" with Dio); also like Ozzy solo.

I also like:
early Aerosmith, AC/DC, Sex Pistols, Buzzcocks, Motorhead, Britney Fox (a "hair band" from the late 80's) ...

From ChimpFace's list: Queen, The Doors, Rush, Hendrix ...

The non-hard stuff I like includes:
Psychedelic Furs, A Flock of Seagulls, Roxy Music, Devo, B-52s.

As far as what's happening recently:
I like the new cuts by Motley Crue and Iron Maiden; Green Day is OK (but overplayed), love Blink 182 ("Enema of the State" CD is great).

Well, that concludes my random thoughts for now.
