    Angry Help!!! Weird Computer problem!

Ok, I don't know what the hell is going on with this! I bought a 300 celeron computer off ebay for my Poolside MP3 project. When it came in, I pulled the 13 gig HD and plugged it up to my computer as the master HD. Then I turned on my computer, which booted up Win 98 off the new HD. Then I went into Win EXplorer and copied all of my mp3s onto the new drive from my secondary HD. Then I shutdown and reconnected my Win XP HD and put the other drive back in the computer I bought off ebay. I'm using a FREE monitor I got from a friend. It's a POS 14 inch, but I plugged it up to my computer and it worked fine. Now to the problem: I hooked the monitor up to the new computer and started it up. Everything is good up until the Win 98 screen. When it gets into windows There's all kinds of lines going through the screen and everything is moving. Also the screen is in like 4 sections of the same thing and I see four cursors! If this was a monitor problem, wouldn't it mess up before it got into windows? Any help appreciated.

No. It sounds like the problem you're having is that windows is loading the wrong drivers.

Try booting in safe mode and then setting monitor up in windows.

Some monitors only support a few specific resolutions and frequencies. It could be that Windows is trying to display in too high or too low a resolution or too high a frequency for the monitor to display properly. Since it's a small monitor, it's more likely to be a resolution that's too high. Try something like 640x480 or 800x600 and see if it goes away. If not, try lowering the frequency too.

Its not a good idea to keep a computer next to the pool.
The kids these days, with their cannonball jumps could splash the parts
that don't need to be watered. I'd change to a basementside or extra bedroom-side
    MP3 project. Much safer.

    I can't remember either. Just push them all. It's F6, F7 or F8.

    Poolside! LoL!

Poolside MP3 is the name of the custom software I wrote for the MP3 system. It's actually the computer in the garage which is located behind the pool. I have Advent outdoor speakers mounted under the roof overhang above the patio, and you can set up the playlist with options in the garage. It's cool. That way you don't have to go inside the house.
