    Now how would I go about doing this? I mean, record sound from the modem/phone line?

    You mean like "Voice Modem Wave #00 Line" etc? So how do I do it?

    No...I've never tried recording from random wave sources before, and never worked it out because I don't need to. If you look at the Platform SDK on MSDN there should be some information. It's mostly C/C++ based, but there is an increasing amount of VB stuff.
