according to m$, you're not supposed to use ini files anymore, but the registry. actually, I'm inclined to agree with them - pros: easier to use, always there in the same place. cons: if your system dies it's impossible to retrieve. but then that's what backups are for. if you want i can email you an example vb program for using the registry. (fully commented and explained).
