I am writing a SMTP program for load testing and automated end to end testing in our QA group. The mail server is IMAP enabled. My question is can I connect to the mail server from my VB6 app and return the number of messages that are in the "test user" INBOX? I have completed the SMTP portion(using Winsock), but need a way to verify that all the test messages were delivered to the mail store. Is this something VB6 does out of the box, or do I have to download a custom control?
