    Resolved [RESOLVED] Portforwarding issue

    Hello vbforums

I have a problem with port forwarding on port 80. I have a website running on my computer (it's just a test server). I've had it running fine without problems for years... but when I was about to use it last week, I found that I was unable to connect to my domain and my IP from a remote location (also tested with canyouseeme.org). I tried changing the port from 80 to 801 (just to test) and then it worked just fine, however I don't want to host a website on a port other than port 80. I contacted my ISP, to ask if they've blocked port 80 for incoming traffic and they claim they haven't, but they say that it is impossible to port forward on this port. (which I don't understand????)

I've tested using netstat to make sure that there isn't any other process to interfere with port 80 (obvious the site wouldn't be accessible if it was... but just to double check everything.), and there was nothing. I tried disabling the firewall and testing it again with canyouseeme.org, I even tried hosting the site on another computer, without luck.

so what actually works... I can access my site on any device, as long as it is within my LAN using either remote ip, local ip or the domain name. I can access the site from a remote location if it's run on a different port than port 80, even if I've opened up for port 80 in the router. I have a Netgear WNR1000v3 router, and the webserver software is XAMPP v3.2.1 (yes, it's old. but I've also tried the latest version on a different computer) on windows 10.

    any suggestions?

    Edit:
I managed to solve the problem. I borrowed a router from one of my friends, and plugged it in, removed my router and tried portforwarding, and it worked. It seems that there is something wrong with the router I had. Everything works smoothly now.
