Samples and Servers
Hi:
I have programmed with VB 6.0 for years and am now trying to learn VB 2010 (I have the "Express" Version). Downloaded the "samples" which are apparently for 2008 or earlier. but every one of them seems to require a server and NorthWind.mdb to be on that server so it can attach... but I don't have a server on my machine....
1) Is there a way to run these without a server? (Without having to reprogram the moon!)
I tried to download the 2012 server express from Microsoft and my Explorer 8 keeps beeping and saying that a page was recovered but had to quit to keep from getting into an "endless loop".... so, I'm even having a hard time downloading a possible server to use!... I need a keeper ...
Any suggestions? I learned VB 6.0 by using samples and doing the programming...and I need the samples to get beyond the basics and see how to load some of the controls, etc.
thanks for any assistance you may be able to give me..
