VS 2010 Fragile References (when making a template)

Hi all,

Windows 7, IDE set up for x86 32 bit development.

the IDE is losing it's mind a little... the path to a needed library seems to break when saving a project as a template.

The problem is seen when creating a new project from the template. The project throws an error, unable to find the library.

When trying to reestablish the path (which works prior to creating the template), I used the add path and reference paths tools on the references tab to navigate the path to the library.

Part way down the path, one of the directories simply was not there.

I went to file explorer, and sure enough... it was there, and I navigated it easily... but not in the VS2010 express.

As I continued to struggle with it, I did something to correct it, but I'm not sure what did the trick. Suddenly the directory was there... and done.

The problem is, the template still has this problem...

Has anyone ever seen this kind of fragility in a path like this?
