It is not about vb but please help about this(hope so)

I want to have fun with linux and I bought that fu**n Corel Linux. Now the problem is that it does not detect my ethernet card and I am really unfimiliar with linux. If I can connect to the internet then I can learn from there but i cannot connect to the internet first so..
I have using D-Link ethernt card and sympatico DSL service. I you guys ever had any similiar problem then can you please tell me how you fixed it..
