I've been thinking or ways to monitor an application that runs on a system that is attached on our network. Currently have logs generated that have to be enabled (when the need arrises) and then collected for analysis later..

I was thinking I could use a syslog type of addition to my application that I could use to monitor real time.. Has anyone done this before? Any thoughts or suggestons on adding this capability to my code?
