[RESOLVED] Delete Permission on owned threads?
A question presented for possible implementation. The following pertains only to the Code & Utilities Banks portions of the forum.
Is it possible or would it be possible for the owner of a thread in those forum sections to remove posts, posted by others? The reason I ask, is that, on occasion, others tend to take over the thread discussing things other than a project/code posted/provided in that thread. You can see this in several threads.
As an owner of the thread, I find this extremely annoying when it happens. The worse cases are when you specifically reply and ask the person to not use the thread for their agenda and to post their comments/concerns in more appropriate forum sections; but they continue.
I realize giving someone delete permission in their thread can be abused also. For example, someone pointing out a flaw in code that causes some unexpected/unwanted action (i.e., changing registry values, deleting files, etc) and the owner decides they don't want that identified for whatever reasons and removes the post.
Bottom line... I feel we should have full ownership to our threads we post in the code & utility banks.
