Here is a list of a few situations:

1. launch vbforums.com --- list of all Forums
2. click Visual Basic 6 and Earlier (or any other) --- list of all threads
3. click a thread --- only place ads appear
4. click Quote or Post Reply --- get edit box to type in Message
5. click Preview Post --- to edit a Message
6. click Edit --- to edit a Message

Of this list, only #3 seems applicable.

Why on earth does the script get invoked in cases 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6.
Suppressing it in these cases should eliminate about 80% of the
problem "delays"
