HOW TO INSTALL VB6 on VISTA or WINDOWS 7
Please, note that next steps is related to Visual Studio 6.0 Enteprise Edition.
If you own Professional Edition, the MSDN Library cd-rom are CD2 and CD3.
Important: bypass each warning compatibility problems messages
0. Login to Vista with Administrator privileges (not standard user!)
1. Insert CD 1 of VisualStudio 6.0
2. stop the setup (if autorun start)
3. open Explorer to cd-rom ROOT folder
4. search "SETUP.EXE" file
5. Righ-Click, then from context menu choose: Run As Administrator
6. Setup will install Java, then reboot computer.
7. After Windows restart, Setup.exe will continue automatically. STOP the Setup, then
8. Repeat steps 3 to 5, to run SETUP as Administrator again.
9. install the products you wants.
10. when restart is required, restart. (keep cd into driver.)
11. Setup re-run from last point: clic ever Next button (don't install others)
12. when setup finish, will ask you to install MSDN Library. Choose NO!
Install MSDN Library
13. remove CD1, and insert CD4 - MSDN Library 1
14. Repeat steps from 3 to 5 (if you choose complete insert CD5 when required.
Install ServicePack 6
15. perform again SetupSP6.exe like as steps 3 to 5.
