I just upgraded to Vista Business a few days ago and have been downloading and installing updates. Besides finding that many screens in the graphics application I'm working on run much much slower than when I was using Windows XP and the text for various forms is spaced differently I also see that I'm unable to get into the designer.

If I click on the designer icon to open it I get a message that says :

The service Microsoft.VisualStudio.Shell.Interop.ISelectionContainer already exists in the service container. Parameter name: service Type

When I'm doing updates for Windows it wants to keep on trying to install an update for Visual Studio 2005 but I don't have Visual Studio 2005. I use to have it but I uninstalled it using the standard procedure. I just have Visual Basic 2008 Express. I don't know if there is any connection here to the problem I'm having but I thought I'd mention it.

When I do a Vista performance test for my computer I only get a 1.0 for gaming and graphics. I ordered a new graphics card for my computer so hopefully that will get the speed of the graphics at least back to where it was when I was using Windows XP.

The problem of not being able to get into the designer isn't going to be solved by a new graphics card so if anyone has any ideas you can let me know.
