Comcast is horrible. They give you a "gateway", which is a massively butchered wireless router rebuilt to be a modem, and armed with Comcast's own pile of **** firmware. Download anything faster than about 150kb/s and it power cycles. By itself. Sometimes it won't reestablish the cable connection and you have to manually reset it. And they do have a monopoly. Verizon FiOS is still unavailable where I currently live, and won't be available where I'm moving to. So it's either try not to break a Comcast POS, or go from 6mb/s down to 768kb/s down and switch to DSL. I don't like that idea.
