Price Check, Aisle 14
I had a hunger for some corn dogs a few days ago, so I went to my regular grocery store and found a 6 count, 1 pound package of State Fair Corndogs, scancode 7106801126
Now, being in the digital age, most items have no printed price on their packages, and since I don't have a pocket scanner, I looked at the tag that was applied to the shelf immediately below the stack of Corndogs. It read:
"Unit Price , $1.28 per pound, 6 count, 2.33 pounds, You Pay $2.99"

Well, I certainly was overjoyed that there existed 6 corndogs that were 2.33 times the size of my measly 1 pound box of 6. But sadly I could not find such a container. I then noticed that the product code on the shelf label matched that of the one on the 1 pound box itself.
"This is odd", I thought, as the potential ramifications slowly percolated into forthought, "Since the codes match, they just might ring up this 1 pound box as 2.99...I better use my new handy-dandy cellphone camera and take some snapshots, just in case."
When I got to the checkout line, I kept my eyes glued to the prices as the clerk scanned my items, and just as the corndogs were scanned, up popped $2.99!
"Now, lets stop right now, how can this be?" I actually said in my most curteous but concerned tone to the checkout employee. I explained the delema, and immediately I was sent over to the customer service desk, where a manager addressed the situation. "Surely the tag is wrong" he said, "But the price must be correct, the rest of the label is wrong. However, I will sell it to you for the 1.28 per pound, and you can go on your merry way. I shall resolve this issue forthrightly"
Unfortunately, yesterday I saw that the label still was not corrected, and since I was in a persnickety mood, I decided to buy another package, and press the issue. This time, a manager was surprised that I had raised the issue a few days ago, and yet it wasn't resolved. He kindly sold me the package for $1.28, and proclaimed that he would tackle the errant label.
So, this morning, I went in, and sure enough, the label had been tackled! Well, actually, it was removed, with no replacement in sight. I was NOT in the mood to buy another box just yet, as I had 1 and a half left in my home freezer, so I do not know if the actual price of the dogs are 2.99 or 1.19.
Shortly I will visit some other grocery stores and see what they list the State Farm 1 pound, 6 count corndogs as going for, but perhaps some of you might tell me how much they go for in your area?
-Thanks
