I have developed an application that performs FTP transfers using the Internet Transfer Control.

I transfer files from two locations. One is a PC on my local network (same subnet), the other is an FTP server at a remote location.

To connect to the remote server, I have an ISDN card installed and have set up my Internet settings to connect to the Internet using this modem.

However, when I go to transfer to the LOCAL machine, the Internet dial-up still kicks in to make an Internet connection.

Therefore, an unnecessary connection to the Internet occurs: the customer is not going to like that (!).

Cancelling the dial-up still allows connection to the local machine (via the LAN).

I've checked all my TCP/IP settings and the local machines are definitely on the same network so there is no need for the dial-up to operate.

It seems as if the Inet control automatically starts the dial-up before it has resolved the address to connect to.

Is anyone aware of this problem and/or a workaround to ONLY dial-up if the URL is a remote address?

Using a proxy server for the internet connection is not an option.

Thanks in advance,
