Analyst Programmer VB

* Contract position (6 Month view to perm)




This leading Finance company requires a dedicated A/P to help them develop enhancements to their workflow system.
You should have good VB 6 and be happy coding in VB6 - the Workflow system is based on this language. Future plans to move to .Net, but its not happing till the end of the year.

Its a great laid back team environment and there is good scope for progression if this is what you want.

You should be easy going but be able to talk to the business where necessary!

Role responsibilities will include :


* Assist in the detailed development of system specifications/coding/testing
* Provide production support for workflow/imaging systems
* Liaise with management on task progress
* Liaise with vendors where required
* Meet to define business systems requirements and resolve existing issues
* Perform feasibility studies
* Code/Update/Modify/Debug complex programs
* Generate program test data, develop test plans, conduct testing
* Train user personnel in use of amended or new systems
* Follow quality assurance process



Essential skills include :

*4-5 years Application Development experience from within a structured environment
* Experience and appreciation of the QA process
* Experience producing technical documentation
* Test Planning
* The ability to present recommendations of solutions to clients and team members
* Degree educated or equivalent experience
* 2/3 years Oracle - Nice to have but if you are stronger in other area's you will be considered
* PL/SQL
* Excellent Visual Basic 6 - Must!
* Strong Communication skills essential
* .Net is a nice to have!
