I have a VB app that uses version 2.0 of msxml. This works fine from win95 until xp. In Vista it doesn't let me install this dll.

I was doing some searching and I think I found the reason in this link:

It says:

MSXML versions 1.x and 2.x are no longer supported by Microsoft.

I don't mind using a higher version, like maybe 3.0 or 4.0 or even 6.0 (the latest) but it is imperitive that it works on all versions of windows back to win95.

Does anybody know which version I should use? Which is the most stable?

My xml code basically just reads an xml file.
