SpoonGuard?!?!?
Just got back from a fourteen mile bike ride along some old rutted roads out in the desert. The purpose of the trip was to find out whether biking those roads worked (it did), and to get back to a place I camped last year to retrieve a spoon.
Having left my spoon behind, I was forced to eat my next two suppers with a comb, which works remarkably well.
Now, when I went back to get the spoon, it wasn't there. I realize it has been about 14 months since I left it, but there aren't that many people out there, and who would pick up a spoon anyways? Certainly not the same people who left the cigarette buts, chunks of decayed plastic pipe, and beer cans scattered about.
On the other hand, there were a large number of rodents active around an old water tank where I had camped. Perhaps I hadn't simply left the spoon behind, perhaps it was stolen by a pack rat, or other thieving varmint.
A good ride, but no spoon.
My usual boring signature: Nothing
