I tested for 7 years before stepping into T-SQL and VB development, which I've been doing for nearly a year. I really like what I do and would love to keep doing it but since we're moving overseas shortly (back to my home country, the USA) I may find myself in a 'take what I can get' situation, especially since so many employers seem to want tons of experience.

So...how's the job market for testers/SQA bodies, particularly in Texas? And how good would my prospects be to stay in development or even get a jr DBA position with 6 years of writing SQL but only 1 year of actual on-the-job development experience, and 1 year of VB/VBA? I'm learning C# at home too.
