Looking for good ideas others have used.

I have a form with a tab control on it (8 tabs) spread across the tabs are about a half-dozen data controls. When the form loads, all the data controls operate and it takes the form a while to load. I would prefer the queries to occur when the specific tab is highlighted.

One option is to bring all the data controls into code, this isn't so difficult, but it loses the "elegance" of the visual controls.

Anybody thought about this? Any ideas????
